properties to make material more useful. [13-18]
3.2.2 Ways of making
- Waste: Remove pieces of material until the shape or
form wanted remains.
- Construct: Make a whole out of parts, joining together.
- Form: Change the shape or form of a piece of material
by bending, folding, pressing, forging.
- Cast: Pour a liquid over or into a mould.
3.2.3 Ways of making Timber
-Timber conversion/seasoning in yard and factory.
-Prefabricated timber trusses.
-Compression, tension, shear and bending.
-Joining timber interpenetrating joints.
-Process boards
