2.1.1 Surveying [5-8]
The methodical and precise gathering of detailed information from the real world that will be translated to scaled drawings.
2.1.2 Working safely
Surveys of existing structures should never be carried out alone, let someone know where you are. The work team of three which includes a draughtsman, a photographer and a data gatherer.
2.1.3 Equipment
-        Sheets of paper, A3, A4 size with clips to hold paper
-        Various pencils or pens of different colours
-        Eraser
-        Measuring tape 5M
-        Conventional camera
2.1.4 Survey drawing
Plan views: A view looking down vertically from above. When viewing a small object in this manner, the image is commonly known as a top view.
Elevation views: A horizontal view looking at something from the outside. Elevations emphasize the exterior vertical surface of object forms and their silhouettes in space.
Section views: A cut through is a vertical slice and the view is horizontal.
Axonometric: This can bring the plan, elevation and section together.
